HUD Awards More Funding to Help Keep Former Foster Youth Housed
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) recently awarded nearly $621,000 to 14 public housing agencies (PHAs) in 12 states.
The PHAs can use the funding, which comes from the Foster Youth to Independence (FYI) Program , to provide housing assistance to youth who are aging out of foster care and experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The funding will make 60 housing choice vouchers available.
