HUD Issues 27 Waivers to Aid Hurricane Ida Recovery

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) issued 27 regulatory and administrative waivers this week to help state and local communities recover from Hurricane Ida.

The package of waivers, which represents one of the largest HUD has issued at one time, cover the following programs:

  1. Community Development Block Grants (CDBG)
  2. HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME)
  3. Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA); and
  4. Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG)

“To expedite the use of these funds, HUD’s state and local partners can now access a waiver through a new simplified notification process ,” according to the department.
