HUD and VA Award New HUD-VASH Vouchers for Homeless Veterans
The departments of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Veterans Affairs (VA) recently awarded $14 million in more than 1,400 HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) vouchers to 66 public housing agencies across the country.
The HUD-VASH Program aims to end veteran homelessness by providing HUD rental assistance and VA case management and clinical services to veterans experiencing homelessness.
Currently, there are more than 110,000 HUD-VASH vouchers being administered by more than 700 PHAs—81,000 of which are actively under lease. Since 2008, HUD has issued new HUD-VASH vouchers every year.
